Genevieve. Say it with me. Genevieve. A beautiful name for a beautiful woman. I do know that there are some of you out there that are scratching your heads, in lieu of more private body parts, and saying “Gene-who?” Well, allow me to retort. As you know for the last three months of Scream Queens I’ve been featuring the lovely demons of the hit TV series Supernatural in both their blonde and brunette ‘meat suits’. We had blonde Meg (Nicki Aycox), brunette Meg (Rachel Miner) and blonde Ruby (Katie Cassidy). Now we come to our fourth and final demon lady; the woman who brought brunette Ruby to life, Genevieve Padalecki. Only she wasn’t a Padalecki when she began work on the show; she was Genevieve Cortese. Other than Supernatural, Miss Cortese nee’ Padalecki is an accomplished stage actress, having appeared in productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Her film work includes the films Kids in America (2005) and Hated (2010). Television work includes Wildfire (2005-2008), Stephen King’s Dead Zone (2005) and Flash Forward (2009-2010).

So, now that you know a little more about Genevieve, let’s welcome her with open arms as the Written in Blood Scream Queen of the Month for June, 2o13.

She received a BFA in Drama and BA in English at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she attended the Stella Adler Acting Studio and Atlantic Theater Co.

Her favorite books are Lolita and The Sound and the Fury.

Married Jared Padalecki on February 27th, 2010.

Met her husband, Jared Padalecki, on the set of Supernatural (2005).

Gave birth to her first child at age 31, a son Thomas Colton Padalecki on March 19, 2012. Child’s father is her husband, Jared Padalecki.

I love the possibility that anything can happen in any moment with acting. That you have the opportunity to experience lives and adventures that you may not have otherwise.

I learned to ride from my mom, she is the ultimate rider. When she was Kris’s age she used her horse to escape and ride up Mount Diablo. I learned a lot from her and a ton that I incorporate into the character of Kris.

My biggest thing is, I’m learning what it’s like to carry myself in a personal way and also a professional way, how I can be a leader and do multitasking.
