Why she is the Saturday Night Diva:
Let me lay it right on the line for you: I am of the opinion, humble or otherwise, that Beth Phoenix was one of the most talented and beautiful women to ever set foot inside a WWE ring. She was blonde, buxom, and tough and she’s got three WWE Women’s Championships, one WWE Divas Championship and a Diva of the Year Slammy Award to prove it. Ever dominant she would toss hapless opponents, including Trish Stratus, Lita, Kelly Kelly and Mickie James, around the ring like rag dolls. Her time with career killer Santino Marella wasn’t even an issue; in her time Beth Phoenix was the dominant Diva. And then she was gone.
Her Wikipedia page indicates that she gave notice and left the WWE for family reasons. Here is where I get to the crux of why she is this week’s Saturday Night Diva; her Wiki page doesn’t indicate what those family reasons are and I for one don’t really care. It’s her business and no one else’s. What I respect is that this is a woman whose priorities are in the right place. Family comes first over fame, period. Nowadays Beth is with Adam Copeland aka Edge. They have a little girl, born in 2013. It’s not always about wrestling. Welcome this week’s Saturday Night Diva, Beth Phoenix.
