Synopsis: Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler) is still tormented by the brutal sexual assault she endured years ago (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, 2010). She’s changed identities and cities, reluctantly joining a support group where she begins to piece together a new life. But when her new friend’s murderer goes free and the tales of serial rapists haunt her, Jennifer will hunt down the men responsible and do what the system won’t – make them pay for their crimes in the most horrific ways imaginable. Only this time, no jury may be able to save her.
I just realized, after reading the synopsis above (and watching the trailer below), that the I Spit on Your Grave franchise is gradually becoming the new Death Wish franchise; only it replaces Charles Bronson with Sarah Butler and all the bad guys with rapists and sexual predators. At least that’s what I got out of it; perhaps you will see something completely different. I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine (original title I Spit on Your Grave 3-or III-if you’re into that whole Roman numeral thing) stars Sarah Butler, Gabriel Hogan and Doug McKeon and is directed by R.D. Braunstein. It will have a limited theater release beginning October 9th and will come to VOD and DVD on October 20th. I present to you the trailer and poster for your viewing…analysis.
