There are two things that cannot be denied; one, I’ve wanted to do Lisa Marie as a Scream Queen of the Month for quite some time and two the fact is that Lisa Marie owes a lot of the success of her film career to Tim Burton. Yes, I know that they had a rather unpleasant breakup and that there are some people who simply do not like her and that is just fine; as for myself I find her to be a strikingly beautiful woman.

Born on December 5, 1968 in Piscataway, New Jersey, Lisa Marie began modeling at the age of 16 and has been photographed by the likes of Robert Mappelthorpe and Bruce Weber.

Her debut acting role was in the TV series Miami Vice in 1988. Her first feature film role was in 1990 as a Christmas party guest in Woody Allen’s Alice (1990). She has appeared in several films (most of them under heavy makeup) for Tim Burton; as Vampira in Ed Wood (1994); as Martian Girl in Mars Attacks! (1996); as Lady Crane in Sleepy Hollow (1999); she was the voice of Match Girl, Stainboy’s Mother and Cracker Girl in Burton’s animated short The World of Stainboy (2000); and finally as the ape Nova in Burton’s unsuccessful reimagining of Planet of the Apes (2001).

Her non-Burton genre credits include The Lords of Salem and Silent Night (2012), Dominion (2014) and We Are Still Here and Tales of Halloween (2015). Non-genre credits include Frogs for Snakes (1998), The Beatnicks (2001) and Beauty in the Broken (2015-in post-production).

Would you please join me in welcoming the Written in Blood Scream Queen of the Month for December, 2015: the stunning Lisa Marie!
