To me, there is a feeling of familiarity to Behold the Noose. Some have compared it to True Detective and The Walking Dead but after watching the film and mulling it over in my brain I found myself going further back to find the film that Behold the Noose reminded me of: The Wicker Man. Maybe I’m crazy; maybe I’m thinking too hard but to me there were elements of the 1973 British horror-thriller (not the Nicolas Cage remake craptacular, mind you) that seemed embedded in the very foundation of this short film. If you’ve seen The Wicker Man and see this film maybe you too will see what I am talking about. If not then I hope you enjoy what I found to be an eerie, well-made and well-acted short film. Enjoy.
