ALT-POSTR-MONDAY FOR MAY 2, 2016

April 26, 2016 was Alien Day and I kinda, sorta missed it. That’s why I have a few pieces of artwork here in commemoration. I hope you like them and the rest of what I have for you this week. Enjoy.

  1. The first one is probably the best. The fourth Alien one though is very atmospheric and Taxi and Suspira are pretty good. Oh hell, they’re all pretty bloody amazing.

  2. Opened strong with Alien and closed strong with Phantom. Lots of great ones in between. The Last House on the Left and Suspiria, awesome stuff.

  3. That was a lot of Alien! And very grim! I think the one with all of those eggs grossed me out the most, just thinking about what’s in the eggs. Batman imagery is very true to the original series. Pet Sematary made me feel the stars were in alignment for terrible things to happen. I feel bad about “The Bear” because I finally got a copy and haven’t watched it yet. However the artistry on the rifle is very pleasing considering the time period it conveys. Love The Phantom of The Opera poster because it’s so spooky and yet we see that romance in the distance. Thank ye, sir!

  4. Excellent choices! The ALIEN stuff is awesome. I think Tim Burton needs to do a full-on remake of both Phibes movies. Shoot them back to back, maybe get Depp in there somewhere, Walken if possible. No clue who can play Vulnavia, as she’ll need to be great enough to be silent yet be the focus of every scene she’s in.

The Dark Knight Rises poster cracked me up as I scrolled down to it, so I’ll share this link around to a few people today.

    • Thank you, I appreciate this. Tim Burton would be a great choice for a Phibes revival; just as long as he goes in the right direction (a la Sleepy Hollow) and not the wrong one (Dark Shadows, Planet of the Apes).

  5. The Alien posters are amazing! I cannot face watching any of the Alien movies right now because I almost constantly feel like I am auditioning for a role as the victim of a chestburster the way this baby goes on. I think it would be very uncomfortable viewing.
