  1. Pumpkinhead and Escape from New York leaped off the screen for me – Batman, Bates Motel, and Beetlejuice were also stand outs. Great finds this week.

  2. My favourite is Beetlejuice. Really bright but showing all the diabolical wackiness that ensues within the story. Plus there is that starry background with doorways reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. (I was “bad” and got a couple new Beetlejuice items recently. A lunchbox was one of them.)

    20,000 Leagues is excellent in attaining that old-time-feel as like when the book was published. Ah yes, The Bates Motel. Only know the original but that odd relationship always rings out. (At first I thought it was the Sleepwalkers flick from the 1990’s.) The blood under the bed is gruesome.

    Hazy intrigue for Escape From New York. Gotta love Kurt Russell. DANG! I’m out of the loop for current stuff. That Batman VS Superman is intense. Why Versus? Did Kent get some bad Kryptonite again? However if this is in the public consciousness it stands to reason why my damn bats that I’ve painted and embroidered on most of my clothing are getting the “Batman Rocks!” shout-out from people, when my bats look nothing like his logo. {goofy grin}

    Guardians of The Galaxy win that vibe for “Imported Version”, as I’ve seen with so many movies and music albums that contain extras we don’t get over here. The Fly is spectacular, lacing in the human muscular complexity within the fly’s structure. Very well done, indeed.

    And thank you for mentioning the holiday and that schedules for our audiences might be dim today. I just finished a marvelous chapter that took me three weeks to nit-pick into as close a perfection as I could get, then? Barely a ripple so far on readership. (Shocked me too, because in the end I thought, “Wow, this is a *sexy* ghost story!”) However, yesterday was so weird. I got this deluge of downloads for the show and just thought, “Okay, are you going to spend 36 hours listening to The Pit for the 4th of July? Well, whatever floats yer boat!” 😉

    • If you do Netflix the first two seasons of Bates are on there. I advise you to check it out because it makes for some great TV. Vera Farmiga are both excellent in their roles as Norma and Norman Bates.

      • Wel-l-l-l, I have that focusing problem right now. If it’s not in The Pit I can’t really pay attention to it. (Couldn’t even read The Ghost & Mrs. Muir novel because it’s too different from the TV show.) But maybe someday I’ll check it out. 🙂
