  1. Jennifer Connelly has to count for something, Escape from New York is kinda neat and I really dig The Creature from the Black Lagoon. Is that the original poster like The Gauntlet one was? I’m giving it to The Walking Dead. Says it all doesn’t it?

  2. Great finds this week. I especially liked Escape from New York, Frankenstein, and Suspiria – one of my favorite Dario Argento movies. I wish he was still making them like that.

    • Instead of like Argento’s Dracula? The only good thing about that movie was Asia’s breasts and while we’re on her breasts (lol) isn’t directing a nude scene that your daughter is performing in kind of creepy?

      • I’ve always thought that. I honestly don’t know how a dad could promote his kid in that way. Even though I’m half Italian I still can’t get on board with that. What do you think was the last great Argento movie?

  3. Hi ya. With the Bond there is all that old-fashioned layout, not only of the roulette but also in the poster itself, like a card and showing the four suits in each corner. Silky look, and interesting the cards below add up to fourteen. (That’s a number that’s haunted me.) Creature From The Black Lagoon, in all it’s aquatic horror, shows an old time movie poster feeling and also puts me in the mind of viewing it at home in 3-D. (My uncle used to be big on 3-D)

Dark City and that Big Band vibe Connelly has going on. The green stands out against so much stark grey. But the clock behind her is what gives us that spiraling out of control effect. Statue of Liberty is looking more rebellious than usual for “Escape From New York”! I’m making an effort to read all the graffiti. Wild!

Everyone Turns is really something. There is a duo of Alphonse Muchas I’m seeing, but also with the realistic sense on the left of a photo, while on the right we have the more demonic imagery. I would actually love to see more of the Gothic style done in the vein of Alphonse Muchas! I’m sure I have but I can’t remember. Anyway if Adam Pobiak has more of that I am interested!

Zi-zag up the hill sets the creepy effect for Frankenstein. (Glad the poster says “Boris Karloff” as opposed to “KARLOFF”. We often got weirded out to see his name displayed that way in films.) Goldfinger girls is all sorts’a shiny! Suspiria… wow. Really glittery without actually being glittery. This last one with the triangles, the blazing red and blazing blue is very spectacular, and likely my favourite from this set!
