FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE TRAILER PARK: THE BEGUILED

Synopsis: During the Civil War, a girls’ school is disrupted by the arrival of a wounded soldier (Colin Farrell), who charms all the women and girls there, creating an atmosphere of jealousy and betrayal.

I usually post horror and the occasional sci-fi trailer as part of this post. Sofia Coppola’s remake of Don Siegel’s The Beguiled (based on Thomas P. Cullinan’s novel of the same name) is not a horror film. So, if The Beguiled is not a horror film then why is the trailer for it so damn creepy? With a screenplay by (Sofia) Coppola based on Cullinan’s novel, The Beguiled stars Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell in the role taken on by Clint Eastwood in the 1971 original. A contender for the Palmes d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, The Beguiled will open in select theaters on June 23 and nationwide a week later on June 30. Check out and enjoy the trailer↓.
